Maritime Petroservice
Contractors Limited formerly Mediterranean
Production Company Limited hereinafter called was
formed in 2000 in the UK as a company providing operating and management
services to offshore floating production storage and offloading systems.
At
its inception, the company had won two contracts, the first for the
design, conversion and installation of an FPSO on the Isis Field
offshore Tunisia, and the second for the future operation and maintenance
of the FPSO.
The client for both contracts was Coparex
BV the field operator on
behalf of the co-venture partners Atlantis
Holding and ETAP.
To execute the design and
build contract, formed
a UK based project team comprising key company personnel recruited from the
UK oil & gas industry
based in Aberdeen, supplemented by specialist subcontractors in naval architecture,
process engineering design and mooring analysis.
The key features of
the contract were fast-track and low cost utilising the novel Tripod
catenary Mooring System (TCMS).
 
The
FPSO was successfully installed on the Isis field in November 2001
and an operating uptime in excess of 99.5% from first oil was achieved. Much
